So I guess it's about time i make a music related post huh?
Couldn't pick a better jump-off topic than this.
J. Cole is absolutely the truth. Been a very good friend of mine since High School, and we have worked together ever since. He's not your average up and coming MC that has a few punchlines, can spit about
bein gangsta or partying, yet fails in the songwriting department. Not only can he write a brilliant song, but when you listen to him you actually get that feeling. Yeah THAT feeling.. The feeling you had when you first heard
Pun. The feeling you had when you first heard
Nas. That "Wow I'm excited to hear his next song" feeling. That "let me do some research about this dude" feeling. That "I wanna be up on him before any of my friends so that i look cool when he blows up" feeling. Yeah
that's J. Cole. The
mixtape is hosted by
DJ ON POINT who hosted the now
legendary Mood Muzik mixtape series by
Joe Budden,
The Come Up follows suit.

If that
doesn't work try downloading it

Simba - Just raw Lyricism. I remember the first time J played this for me in the lab... I was wide eyed..
"Word on the streets is I'm the Prince nigga check the splenda, and I can't wait to be the king nigga young Simba" Indeed.
School Daze - A Classic SONG. Remember how i spoke about writing a SONG? Any doubts end here. The best
reminisce on your high school days song ever made. Period. I'm
feelin nostalgic just thinking about it.
Throw It Up - The 2
nd verse on this song is one of the best (on this topic) I have heard since the 90s ended. Seriously.
Split You Up - Song for the ladies? Yeah.. This is radio ready all day. Catchy as all hell but still plenty of integrity lyrically. The way its supposed to be done.
Lil Ghetto Nigga - My
fav song on the tape, this shit gives me chills every time i hear it. The production is
phenomonal and did i mention that he produces too? J did this beat and KILLED it. The hook is ridiculous also. Classic.
Honestly I could keep
goin, I love the whole tape top to bottom but I'll let
yall decide for ya
selves..... Enjoy post comments and of course check out the
Dreamville blog and his
myspaceBe on the look out for some VERY BIG projects coming soon with J. Cole and myself working together... Its going to get real crazy .. real soon!
