J. Cole Interiew on HipHopGame

My man J. Cole just keeps on popping up everywhere lately huh??? Stay tuned folks, big big big announcement coming real soon.

In the mean-time.. Check out this Interview with the good people over at HIPHOPGAME!

Thanks J, for the ill love in the interview too!!!!!!!

What's it like working with Elite?

Elite is the fucking man. He knows me and we vibe on a friendship level. He knows the right things to say when it comes to working with him. For instance, there’s a song on the mixtape called “Playground” that’s fucking incredible. He did the beat and I actually did the track on the spot. It’s the first time I didn’t write. I write all my shit. I wanted to just try the Jay-Z shit out and just do it for fun. Working with him is incredible because he knows all the right things to say to give me that extra boost and momentum in a positive way. He speaks my language. It’s ill, man.
I must say, workin wit Cole its a blessing man, since we are friends first we are able to communicate in a way that you may not be able to communicate with a DMX or someone you don't really know. Like we can bounce ideas off each other and you don't gotta bite your tongue, but at the same time you know its always gunna be a positive energy and vibe. Then after we done, we can go celebrate and have a blast as friends. There nothin better than working with people you genuinely get along with, even on a sports team, or in an Office environment. That is how a succesful team is able to thrive, because motivation and inspiration comes naturally through your interactions with eachother.

The song "Playground" we got comin is insane man, its strange cuz I'm the type of producer who really likes to go nuts on a beat, add mad shit, and really make it a full-scale production. On this particular track I ended up keeping in minimal. Which is rare for me, but it was one of those situations where the joint just didn't need anything else. I did the beat fast, and it was just bangin the way it was.

Make sure you look out for THE WARM UP which is Cole's new tape coming soon, we got some more joints too along with "Playground" that are really gunna blow peoples heads off too.

Ok so what the HELL is TWITTER????

So what the hell is TWITTER? Why is everyone goin so crazy over it?? A lot of people would describe it as "Like Facebook with just the status updates". But I think of it more as a giant 24/7 chat room where u basically get to choose who your paying attention to. It's pretty interesting, and EXTREMELY ADDICTIvE!!!

Check out this absolutely HILARIOUS cartoon my man Omen put me on to, it describes "Twittonia" (as @The_Real_Shaq puts it lol)

Oh, by the way.... Follow me @Elitethatsme !!!!

(Read the original blog post/reiew for The Come Up below....)

So I guess it's about time i make a music related post huh? Couldn't pick a better jump-off topic than this. J. Cole is absolutely the truth. Been a very good friend of mine since High School, and we have worked together ever since. He's not your average up and coming MC that has a few punchlines, can spit about bein gangsta or partying, yet fails in the songwriting department. Not only can he write a brilliant song, but when you listen to him you actually get that feeling. Yeah THAT feeling.. The feeling you had when you first heard Pun. The feeling you had when you first heard Nas. That "Wow I'm excited to hear his next song" feeling. That "let me do some research about this dude" feeling. That "I wanna be up on him before any of my friends so that i look cool when he blows up" feeling. Yeah that's J. Cole.

The mixtape is hosted by DJ ON POINT who hosted the now legendary Mood Muzik mixtape series by Joe Budden, The Come Up follows suit.

You can listen and download for free here:

If that doesn't work try downloading it here:

Some of my favorite cuts include:

Simba - Just raw Lyricism. I remember the first time J played this for me in the lab... I was wide eyed.. "Word on the streets is I'm the Prince nigga check the splenda, and I can't wait to be the king nigga young Simba" Indeed.

School Daze - A Classic SONG. Remember how i spoke about writing a SONG? Any doubts end here. The best reminisce on your high school days song ever made. Period. I'm feelin nostalgic just thinking about it.

Throw It Up - The 2nd verse on this song is one of the best (on this topic) I have heard since the 90s ended. Seriously.

Split You Up - Song for the ladies? Yeah.. This is radio ready all day. Catchy as all hell but still plenty of integrity lyrically. The way its supposed to be done.

Lil Ghetto Nigga - My fav song on the tape, this shit gives me chills every time i hear it. The production is phenomonal and did i mention that he produces too? J did this beat and KILLED it. The hook is ridiculous also. Classic.

Honestly I could keep goin, I love the whole tape top to bottom but I'll let yall decide for ya selves..... Enjoy post comments and of course check out the Dreamville blog and his myspace

Be on the look out for some VERY BIG projects coming soon with J. Cole and myself working together... Its going to get real crazy .. real soon!

Ewing Snickers Commercial (Funny as hell)

Hilarious Snickers Commercial featuring the one and only Patrick Ewing. This guy is the man. I remember once on vacation I saw him in the Atlantis Casino late night.. I was drunk off my ass literally walking around the place with a bottle of Henny in my hand (I don't think it was allowed but I was wasted)... I was offering shots to random people all night.. And all of the sudden I run into one of my child hood idols. I was so drunk and sloppy i let out an emotional "oh my god!! Patrick!! Your the fucking greatest, man, your the best!!!" somethin like that lol. He looked embarrassed and gave the awkward smile and "thank you". Then I offered him a shot of Henny LOL he declined but gave me a pound for the gesture.... Ahh.. What a memory lol

Nate Robinson / John Thompson Interview

A great interview between my man Nate the Great & Georgetown legend John Thompson. The Knicks prolly blew their shot at the playoffs by losing back to back games to Philly & Miami. Oh well. I think the trades kinda hurt the chemistry, but Chris Duhan has also been really awful lately. What the fuck is going on with him??? Hope he snaps out of it soon. Anyways, check out one of our bright spots. Kriptonate:
