J. Cole on the cover of THE SOURCE!

I stopped posting as much J. Cole stuff ever since JColeFans.com emerged and did a way better job than i ever could have lol. But this one is special. Seeing this bugs me out, feels like we took his picture and photoshopped this shit. I can't even believe it completely. Real proud of my homie and how far he has come, but this is just the beginning. The same people who didn't listen when I said he would make it here, prolly won't believe me when I say his album is a classic, he's going to go down as one of the greatest etc... So just prepare to keep on being proven wrong. DREAMVILLE

Video: Omen feat. Elite "Holy Omen"

From Omen's "Delayed" Mixtape Sampler.

Directed by IMPAKT STUDIO

Shouts to Letsjusteatcheese

I started out as an artist before I was producing. Once I got into making beats I would only write rhymes once in a while. After recording a warm up freestyle, I hit up Omen asking if he wanted to do a song. He was on a roll at the time, sending me tons of music and I wanted to latch onto his energy, he was being real productive. He sent me the sample and I did the beat pretty quickly – sent it as a “rough draft” but he really loved it. He was in Chicago and I was in New York, so we both wrote our verses without knowing what the other was writing about. Somehow it came together though. I knew Omen was gonna bring it so I couldn’t slack. The reactions I got were great so it ended up being the first step to my rededication to rapping. I’m currently working on a mixtape as an Artist and I definitely have Omen to thank for giving me the shot to kind of rediscover myself as an MC.

The most rewarding part about working with Omen was that he put confidence in me. As someone who is known primarily as a producer, it’s hard to break that stigma and gain respect as an artist. He is very picky with who he works with, so him allowing me the opportunity to not just produce a track for him but appear as a featured artist as well meant a lot. -Elite

The Groundwork (Mixtape)

My goal with this project is to connect all the work I have done up until this point, so that those who are unfamiliar can get acquainted with my sound. For those of you who are familiar, I think you will really enjoy these Instrumentals. I didn't just mute the vocals, in some cases i completely remixed and rearranged the beats to give the listener a more dynamic experience.

Playground is one of my favorites, me and Cole recorded that during the early stages of "The Warm Up" but it didn't fit in with the final track listing. It's a great song though, and I'm happy to finally let you all hear it!

Holy Omen was featured on Omen's "Delayed" mixtape sampler, but it's my first real appearance on the mic, so I wanted to share it on this project as well. Expect a lot more of this in the future, and on my next mixtape (currently in progress) entitled "Elite That's Me".

I also decided to finally release The Original Version of Shootouts. Now you can hear for your self how I removed the sample and completely reworked the beat!

Enjoy!

EDIT:

Yesterday I forgot to include BLAQOUT DESIGN (cover design), BY ANY MEANS (art direction) and REDIFINE BOUTIQUE (back cover illustration)

They all showed mad love please check them out, extreme talent all 3!!!

J. Cole update (New Freestyle)

^^^ Lower right hand side... Another feature! A nice look for sure... Every time i see something like this i swear its surreal, almost like looks like we photo shopped it and are just sending it to one another as a joke.. like wouldn't this be dope if this happened? But now its actually happening. Crazy.

Cole just dropped this new freestyle on his blog that is creating quite a stir on the net. We used to have to blast out songs to mad people, hoping and praying one of these blogs would be kind enough to throw it on their site. Now the shit takes off with no effort at all, what a difference. Not only is his shit spreading around like wild fire... People are really hype for it, 595 comments on nah right etc... Insane.

Download the freestyle here

Also, even rising star Drake is showing Mr. Cole some love here on his Blog. Definitely dope!

J. Cole featured on Blueprint 3

Cheers. What a day!!!

I remember years ago Cole literally creating his own home made "American Gangster" album booklet with his name in the credits, rocking a "Make a beat for Jay-z or die trying" T-Shirt lol. Fuck a beat, how about a feature... On a song called "A star is born" produced by Kanye West.

Dreams do come true!!!!

This is amazing, congrats to my man J. Cole!!!!!!!!

J. Cole - "Heartache" Produced By. ELITE!!!!!

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Dawg, This is that shit!!!!

J. Cole - "Heartache" Produced by Elite. From the upcoming mixtape "The Warm Up"

I posted the making of this song a while back, click here to check it out.

For a lot of ya'll this is the first shit you have heard from me production wise in a minute, prolly since "Wrong or Right" (DMX). And the funny thing is I got 2 more DMX joints comin on his new album but THIS shit is way newer than those beats as well as The Lox joint i did. All old shit. This is a chance for yall to see what I been doin production wise more recently.

Oh not to mention Cole absolutely BODIED this shit... I mean seriously, I woulda hated to give this beat to just about any other rapper cuz they jus wouldn't have done it justice. That's the best shit about workin wit Cole... He actually does shit justice. More than justice!

Also cool as shit how much love he showed on the track lol "Let Elite Breath" that shit was sick man, I really appreciate shit like that especially coming from the cut throat non-friendly Ruff Ryder environment lol. What a difference working with actual FRIENDS lol. Nothin against RR, they have done so much for me and I will always be appreciative.. But this is the fam right here. Dreamville baby!!!!!!

P.S. this is just the beginning.. Stay tuned!!!!!!!!!!

P.P.S. That's the album cover of THE WARM UP artwork by my man Alex Haldi he's sick with it!!! The logo is fire too!!

J. Cole "American Dreamin'" Mixtape

I'll just copy what my man Ib said over at the Dreamville blog. This tape is sick though. Shout out to J. Tinsley!

Here's a tape put together by Dj Tay James and J. Tinsley for Collegeradiomusic.com with a small
assist by yours truly which gives you a blend of old and some new J. Cole music
to bring people up to speed. Personally I love this mixtape takes me back to
songs i don't get to listen to as often and also reminds me how long and how
much work has been put in by Cole to get to where is now. Think of this as the
pre game stretch before actually hitting the lay up line and getting your warm
up on for the game, you get the point. With the Warm Up coming June 15th this
should be a good listen to get people ready. Enjoy

James & J. Tinsley Present "American Dreamin' : A History Lesson on J.
Cole"

I know i'm late but obviously this blog has been neglected by all of us for
a bit but here's something
from "The Warm Up" for your listening pleasures.

J. Cole - Simba (video)

The long anticipated BB Gun directed video for Simba. This was recorded in one take, no edits.. Pretty interesting concept. Not easy to get all the things that go on in the video coordinated in one shot. Sick shit!
